GTA Online Gameplay Trailer Arrives Thursday

We only got a tiny glimpse of Grand Theft Auto Online (the multiplayer component of GTA 5) at the very end of the first gameplay trailer.

Every since then discussion forums, Twitter and the blogosphere in general have been rife with questions asking just when are we going to get a proper look at what looks to be an incredibly exciting new direction for multiplayer GTA.

Today Rockstar has answered that question: this Thursday, August 15 they will release the first gameplay video and press previews of GTA Online! Until then we have the graphic above to look at…

Thursday will be here before you know – trust us!

GTA V avatar items, prison system, wallpaper & HQ gameplay video

This post is a mash-up of sorts and represents all the cool Grand Theft Auto V stuff we’ve come across in the last 24 hours. Considering the short time-frame, we’re pretty pleased!

GTA V avatar items

First off, those of you with an Xbox 360 can now download GTA V avatar items from the Xbox Live Marketplace. These include a GTA V t-shirt, Chop (Franklin’s dog), and Bugstar, abseiling, scuba and FIB outfits. Take a look here.

 Uncompressed gameplay trailer

There is an uncompressed version of the GTA V gameplay trailer available to download on the Playstation Network, which obviously doesn’t help those of us without a PS3! Never fear though, because a copy has popped up on Kim Dotcom’s new file hosting site, Mega.co.nz. This is the download link and to unencrypt it you’ll need this key: d0P89xd8QLCeoIQxG3sskGESxt0OvRfjo2SfZVmul0Y

This difference is slight, but noticeable.

 Prison in GTA 5

Next up, and thanks to Reddit, we have what looks to be the first (or at least noticed) sighting of a prison in GTA V. Check out the screencap below, but this follows on from previous rumors that there would be a prison of some kind in GTA 5. It definitely looks more like a prison to us anyway. What do you think?

 New GTA V wallpaper

Finally we have two very special wallpapers for Grand Theft Auto V. The first image comes courtesy of Patrick Brown, who has done drawings for GTA V before (here and here). The second image is from bu22y of deviantART. Not often you get two highly professional new wallpapers on the same day!

Gameplay Video Quick Reference Screencap List

It’s been just over 12 hours since the gameplay video for Grand Theft Auto 5 was revealed and to be honest we are still recovering! There can be no doubt that Rockstar Games have pulled out all the stops and are on track to actually deliver on all the hype surrounding GTA V.

We’ve had a bit of time to go back through the trailer and post some comments below, along with accompanying screencaps taken from the video itself. Hopefully you can use the list as a quick reference for all the cool stuff GTA 5 includes.

And if you want to check out all the screencaps we took from the game, simply click here and scroll down to the  Gameplay Video Screencaps gallery (third one down).

GTA 5 Gameplay Video Coming Tomorrow

This “news announcement” is so epic it deserves a post of its own…

Yup, Rockstar has announced that the very first gameplay trailer for Grand Theft Auto V will be unveiled tomorrow at 10am EST, 9 July. It’s been such a long time coming that we, along with pretty much the rest of the internet and gaming community, literally can’t wait!

Stay tuned and be here at 10 Eastern time July 9!

Rockstar Confirms No Delay, Gameplay Video Soon & More

Rockstar just posted an extremely informative “Asked & Answered” which addresses several of the most common questions people have about GTA V. Is there a delay? When will we see gameplay? How many discs is the Xbox 360 version? What about multiplayer? A PC version? How customizable are cars and weapons? What about cheating in multiplayer? All this and more is answered below, direct from the horses mouth. Enjoy!

PS: We have a new screenshot too:

Will GTA 5 be delayed?

There’s nothing to worry about, so we aren’t quite sure what you’re smelling! GTAV will be available for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on September 17th.

Will there be a PC version of GTA V?

The only versions of the game that we have announced are for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 which are set for a September 17th worldwide release. We don’t have anything to share about the possibility of a next-gen or a PC platform release at this time and we are completely focused on delivering the best possible experience for the consoles people have right now.

How many discs will the Xbox 360 version of the game be?

Grand Theft Auto V is the largest and most ambitious game we have yet created, and takes full advantage of every ounce of processing power available in the current generation of consoles. In order to provide the best possible experience for such a massive and detailed world, the game will have installation requirements on both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 systems. For Xbox 360, Grand Theft Auto V will ship on two discs; Disc 1 will be used for a one-time mandatory install and Disc 2 will be used to play the game. After the install, players will be able to enjoy both Grand Theft Auto V and Grand Theft Auto Online without any need to switch discs.
This initial install will require an Xbox 360 Hard Drive or an external 16GB USB flash drive with at least 8 GB of free space. If using a USB flash drive it must be at least USB 2.0 with a minimum 15mb/s read speed and formatted for Xbox 360 use. A new USB flash drive is recommended to ensure optimum performance. For PlayStation 3, the game ships on one disc and will install content as soon as you insert the game. The install is roughly 8GB, and players will be able to play as soon as the install is complete.

How customizable with weapons and vehicles be?

Without going into detail just yet, we can tell you that both will be very customizable – with a range of weapon upgrades as well as some very deep car customization. Stay tuned for more very soon.

When we will see a gameplay trailer?

Yes. Soon (or in September if you don’t want to see it before you play it… it’s up to you) – the first Official Gameplay Video is on its way…

What about multiplayer information?

Expect to hear some first details soon – it’s called Grand Theft Auto Online and we’re very excited to unveil it for you sometime this summer.

How will cheating in multiplayer be covered? (something we are against by the way – GTA 5 Cheats endorses official cheats only!)

Ever since Grand Theft Auto IV was released, we’ve continued to integrate newer and stronger methods of cheat detection and prevention for each of our games. While we have yet to reveal specifically what new anti-cheating measures we have planned for GTAV, rest assured that we’re focused on creating as level a playing field and as fair, fun (and healthy as you say) an experience as possible for everyone. There will always be some people who want to cheat but we are going to do our best to stop it. We have spent a lot of time and effort making an incredible Online experience and proper support is part of that package.

Ten Features for Grand Theft Auto V

(sorry, The Game isn’t included, it’s just cool art!)

While the GTA V news blackout continues (seriously, it’s been a drought!) we got thinking what new features it would be cool to see included in the game. Have a read of the list below and then let us know what new stuff you want to see in GTA 5 in the comments section below.

  1. Toll pass: stopping at the bridge toll booth each time can be annoying after a while, so how about being able to purchase an e-tag or some sort of pass that lets you through via a special lane. Of course if you smash the barrier arm the cops are called.
  2. Zombie mode: there could be a dedicated online zombie mode. Either everyone else turns into zombies and you (and maybe some buddies) need to survive, or everyone turns and it’s a free-for-all. Another options is for some sort of zombie mode cheat, which we’ve previously discussed.
  3. Weather effects: the weather affects the environment more noticeably than in previous games. For example if you’re flying and there is a storm, it is harder to control your plane or helicopter (and you’re screwed if you happen to be skydiving!). In addition, weather forecasts are played over the radio.
  4. Visibility to police: if the police can’t see you, they will search for you and will not universally “know where you are”. Dogs could be used to chase you and at night they will use flashlights to try and spot you.
  5. Crash scenes: when you, or anyone else, causes a car crash, the police mark-off the incident and traffic flow is restricted around that area. You need to take different routes and be a lot more careful around the increased emergency services presence.
  6. Vehicle ownership: you can purchase and own your own car (or any other vehicle). You don’t lose these vehicles by way of despawn, but rather can go back and get them from wherever you left them (via GPS). If one happens to get stolen you can report it or even seek retribution from the thief yourself (potential mini-game).
  7. Prison system: instead of being transported to outside the police station after being arrested, if there was some sort of prison system that could be interesting. For example, while “inside” you could learn new methods for heists, recruit people to help, establish businesses within the prison and generally cause havoc: think riots!
  8. Progressive rewards for collectibles: instead of being required to find all 100 hidden packages in the game (or whatever the number is) and getting a reward then, you get rewarded for every ten packages you find. This would make the process feel a lot more achievable and less of a grind!
  9. Movie studios: how can Vinewood not have one or more movie studios/sets with actual production carrying on? These would be cool to check out and cause mischief in. Would also add to the realism of the game.
  10. Cheats: we need these. They are a huge part of the GTA series to date and make the game more fun! If you don’t want to use cheats, then don’t. Others like to use them once they’ve clocked the game to increase replayability, and also to generally cause havoc. We’ve included this “feature” as a site dedicated to GTA 5 cheats and also because we’ve seen a few (albeit not many) calls for cheats to be excluded from the game. That said, cheating in multiplayer games should not be allowed (unless there is a specific cheat/anything goes multiplayer mode).

All New GTA 5 Details

2-may-gta5-screenshot (17)

A tonne of new Grand Theft Auto 5 information has been released over the past 24 hours (including all these screenshots) and rather than bog you down with pages and pages of details, here at GTA 5 Cheats we thought we’d give you a simple, no BS list that tells you quickly and simply what to expect when the game is released on September 17 this year. So without further ado…

Property and Business: You can buy properties as well as businesses. This will earn you extra cash from rent and revenue.

The Phone: There will be a new phone called the iFruit. With it you will be able to take pictures, call people, view contacts, browse the net, use social media and replay missions.

Gameplay: You can: roll from cover, rob liquor stores and ATMs, pick up hitchhikers and hunt animals (as in Red Dead Redemption).

Activities: Activities you can undertake include stunts (ie vehicle jumps etc), flying, tennis, yoga, golf, bike races and triathlons.

Player Customization: You will be able to customize your character with tattoos, haircuts and clothing (ala San Andreas).

Vehicle Customization: You will be able to customize your vehicles with paintjobs, tints, grills, spoilers, wheels and performance upgrades (ie Pay n Spray style).

Weapon Customization: Will include high capacity magazines, lasers, scopes and silencers.

Police Radar/Wanted Level: The police radar system will be similar to previous games, but there will no longer be the 6 star wanted level. Also so long as you are not in the line of sight of the cops, you’ll be able to hide.

Character Stats: Player attributes include stamina, shooting, strength, stealth, flying, driving, mechanical ability and lung capacity.

Character Specials: Each character will have a special ability. Michael has bullet time, Trevor has frenzy mode and Franklin has adrenaline junkie (slows time while driving). The first two are self-explanatory.

Map Size: The map is 350% bigger than that of Red Dead Redemption and 500% bigger if you include the water.  The gaming world is surrounded by water everywhere (as opposed to being land locked).

Ocean/Underwater: There is underwater features including fish and sharks, and also treasure, shipwrecks etc.

Missions and Heists:  The game revolves around missions called “heists”. You get to recruit and control all aspects of each heist. For example, who will do it (recruitment), which vehicles are used, what weapons, what outfits/disguises etc. The more certain crew are used, the more their skills will improve.

Dying/Restarting:  If you die you will be taken back to the last checkpoint, this is even if your other characters are alive.

Switching Characters:  When you switch characters the camera will zoom out, and then zoom back in on the character you’re moving to. The closer the two are together, the quicker it will be.

Pedestrians:  The AI level of the pedestrians will be greatly improved and there will be up to 500% more of them!

Multiplayer:  You can play the single player game using your multiplayer character (for a total of four possible choices) and simply pressing down on the d-pad will allow you to switch between single and multiplayer modes.

GTA 5 to be more realistic says producer

Since the release of the official trailer for GTA 5, Rockstar really has been quite discreet in terms of discussing possible developments for the game. However, more and more information is leaking by the day and using it we can slowly (but surely) start to get an idea of what the next release of GTA will be like.

First of all, we know by now that the game will take us back to San Andreas, which is great news for fans of what many/most? consider to be the best GTA game made – GTA: San Andreas.

We also know that the action will take place in the city of Los Santos, which is essentially a replica of the city of Los Angeles. And we already know that Rockstar’s has some experience working with the Los Angeles landscape, as it was the setting of the L.A. Noire, a game set in mid 20th century Los Angeles.

According to various sites, players will also have the option to play as multiple characters in GTA V, which would be a great addition to the game. PSP versions of GTA that were released after GTA 3 and Vice City all allow players to play as multiple characters, so this means the option to do so in GTA 5 is certainly not out of the question.

GTA 5 Convertible

Plus, people who’ve bought GTA IV and the two downloadable episodes had the option to play as Luis Lopez, Nicco Belic or Johnny Klebitz, which are further hints that you could be able to live more than one life in the next version of GTA. Each player had its own very distinct storyline and missions, and the feature would be a great way to add longevity to GTA 5.

Leslie Benzies, one of the producers of the series, has said that there will be more emphasis on the character’s physiology in GTA 5. He stated that what made San Andreas such a unique game was not the action or the ability to explore such a rich and diverse environment, but the changes in the character’s physiology. For instance, your character would become fatter and less agile if he ate too much and would become stronger when he went to the gym.

According to Benzies, this is what made the gaming experience so engulfing in GTA San Andreas and it is why the team decided to really push the idea to the forefront and expand on the concept. This could be a good thing for GTA V as long as the realism factor doesn’t affect the gameplay too much.

In GTA San Andreas, maintaining your character was pretty simple. All you had to do is go to the gym, press a few buttons and you were done. But in this version, it is expected you will have to train each part of your character’s body, do things such as cardio to maintain your stamina and even wipe off the equipment when you’re finished! If this is done properly, it could add a whole new dimension to the game. Continue reading
