GTA V Cheats Discovery Status Update

03-09-gta-screen-6

Update: all the cheat codes have now been discovered. Check them out for Xbox 360 and PS3!

We’re getting dozens of emails and comments each day asking for updates on finding the remaining cheat codes for Grand Theft Auto V. As we posted in this article, the cheats that we’re pretty sure are in the game, but simply haven’t been figured out yet, are as follows:

  1. All Weapons
  2. Health & Armor
  3. Invincibility
  4. Super Jump (Update: this has been discovered)

These are in addition to the 100% confirmed and working cheats we have already found for each of the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360.

We know that the wait is frustrating, however these things can take time. There is literally thousands upon thousands of different button combinations that could work and to make things that little bit harder, there is no discernible pattern in the cheat codes that have been found to work so far.

And yes of course we (along with everyone else) realize that a lot of the cheats discovered so far are based on button combos from Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas. All cheats from all previous GTA games have been tried and the list of working cheat codes that we have as of today is partially as a result of that.

Apart from pure luck, or by plugging in cheats from previous GTA games, there are other ways that the remaining cheat codes might be discovered. These include:

  • The codes being referenced within the game (or some official app) somehow or some place not yet discovered/realized
  • Someone getting tricky with an automated/brute force method (most likely by hooking their game controller up to a PC)
  • Rockstar leaking the cheats themselves (although this is pretty unlikely!)

The good news is that we, along with hundreds of other GTA players, are in-game testing out cheat combinations to see if we get any hits. Hopefully we’ll be able to find all the cheats within a short amount of time, but remember that codes for GTA: San Andreas were still being discovered months after it was released!

So sit tight, check back here for updates, and most importantly enjoy playing GTA V in the meantime!

Update #5: All the cheats have now been cracked! Check them out for Xbox 360 and PS3.

Update #4: The latest cheat has been broken – Super Jump!

Update #3: The cheat for Moon Gravity has been discovered!

Update #2: A Spawn BMX cheat has been found!

Update #1: Skyfall and Faster Swimming cheats have been found. That means 25 confirmed cheats so far and at least six (including invincibility, weapons, and health & armor) to go…

Thanks to some tricky programming skills which we aren’t going to get into, it looks like someone has been able to access at least part of the actual game files for GTA V. What they’ve found is that we should expect a lot more cheats to be discovered than the 25 in total that we already have.

The full list of cheats referenced from the game files is below (excluding 11 entries referring to the vehicle spawn cheats) and as you can see many of them have already been found. With 25 down we have just eight to go, including the all mighty Invincibility, Health & Armor and All Weapons cheats!

You’ll probably notice one big, glaring omission though – no Money cheat was found in the files! Perhaps Rockstar think we should be able to make enough from the BAWSAQ (GTA V stock market) and other in-game businesses and that therefore one isn’t necessary?

GTA V Cheats Yet to be Cracked

  1. All Weapons
  2. Health & Armor
  3. Invincibility
  4. Phone Denied – Update: confirmed not to be an actual cheat, but something to do with cheat messages…

Already Known Cheats

  • Change Weather
  • Drunk Mode
  • Explosive Melee
  • Explosive Rounds / Bang Bang
  • Fast Running
  • Fast Swimming
  • Flaming Bullets
  • Give Parachute
  • Moon Gravity
  • Restore Special Ability Meter
  • Slidey / Slippery Cars / Drift Mode
  • Slow Motion Aiming
  • Slow Motion Time
  • Skyfall
  • Super Jump
  • Various Vehicle Spawns (11 in total)
  • Wanted Level Down
  • Wanted Level Up

What we will say is that you should sit tight guys. The game has not even been released in the US and we already have the majority of the cheats. Those remaining should be posted very soon… It would also be nice to find a money cheat if one exists (was not in the “game files list” at all).

Two New Cheat Codes Added!

pcj-600

Grand Theft Auto V is slowly being released around the world as we speak with gamers from New Zealand getting first crack it at roughly 10 hours ago and Australians in Sydney and Melbourne following just two hours later (provided they went to midnight launch events).

With just over six hours until the game starts hitting the East Coast of the United States we’ve now found a total of 23 cheats and counting for GTA V on the Xbox 360 and the PS3 with the two most recent additions being the Flaming Bullets cheats (LB, RB, X, RB, Left, RT, RB, Left, X, Right, LB, LB on the Xbox 360, L1, R1, Square, R1, Left, R2, R1, Left, Square, Right, L1, L1 on the PS3) and the Spawn PCJ-600 cheat (RB, Right, Left, Right, RT, Left, Right, X, Right, LT, LB, LB on the Xbox 360, R1, Right, Left, Right, R2, Left, Right, Square Right, L2, L1, L1 on the PS3).

We’re working on getting you a video of the Flaming Bullets ASAP, but in the meantime there’s a pic of the PCJ-600 above. We know that there is highly likely to be more cheats than what we’ve found – including the all mighty Health, Money and All Weapons cheats that everyone keeps asking for – so make sure you check back, and maybe even throw in a few random button combinations yourself to try and crack them!

GTA V Preloading Live, New Blaine County Trailer

24x7-3

Good news everyone – the PlayStation Network preload for Grand Theft Auto V is now available for everyone, so you can start downloading the game ready to play come the stroke of midnight later today.

After the previous debacle (we won’t go into it now, but you can read all about it here) the preload was taken down for a while and only just came back up for European gamers on Sunday at 3pm BST. Meanwhile people in the United States have had to wait a while longer to get downloading – it only went back up a few hours ago at 3am EST.

And just in case you don’t know what preloading is – it lets you download 99.99% of the digital version of the game (that you’ve pre-ordered) and then once the game is officially released (in the case of GTA V, midnight on September 16) you connect to PSN and download a couple more files to complete and decrypt what you’ve already got. It’s basically designed to put less strain on PlayStation servers and also means you can start installing and playing more quickly. Everyone wins!

In other news Rockstar has covertly released a new GTA V trailer – this one focuses on Blaine County. Check it out below.

Finally, don’t forget that we have all the cheat codes discovered for Grand Theft Auto 5 so far right here! If you own a Xbox 360 click here and if you want the PS3 cheats click here. We’re also adding new cheats as they are found, so keep checking back for more!

How Will the GTA 5 Cheats System Work?

gta-v-official-trailer01341

Before we get into the main subject matter of this post – how will the cheats system in GTA V work? – let’s get two things out of the way:

  1. While the existence of any cheats in Grand Theft Auto V has not been confirmed by Rockstar, they have also not denied it (see this post here where we emailed them to try and confirm whether cheats would be in or out – they responded too!).
  2. Cheats have historically played a major role in GTA games. While you don’t necessarily need to use them to beat the games, they sure do add a lot of fun! And that is what we’re about – making the game more fun and adding longevity after you’ve clocked it. GTA 5 Cheats does not condone hacking or cheating against other human players.

So, that said, let’s look at how the GTA 5 cheats system might work.

Button Combinations

Firstly, there is the good old “enter a button combination” type of cheat. While this method of activating a cheat code in a video game used to be popular, it has become much less so of late. These days, many games have either built in cheat menus in which you simply need to enter the code once (to prove you know it) and then the relevant is unlocked and easily selectable on and off from that point. A return to the button combination method of entering cheats in GTA V is highly unlikely.

Saved Cheats/Cell Phone Method

Other ways of “saving cheats” have also been created (and it’s generally up to however the developers want to fit this implementation method into the game/storyline). For instance, dialing a number or accessing a cheat via an in-game cellphone has been used for the GTA series as well as the Saint’s Row series. This worked well because the cell phone was also important for other game aspects, like getting missions.

gta-v-official-trailer01101

Turning to the cell phone method, it is an obvious bet for the cheat entry system in GTA V. It’s been well proven and used in previous GTA games and most gamers seem to like it (easy to store cheats, relatively easy to bring them up and use them, and no need to stop and pause the game). Although that said, if you were shot while trying to input a cheat via the cellphone in GTA IV then you’d need to start the process again. This could lead into quite an unfortunate cycle of you continuing to try and get the cheat activated and getting shot each time, with the end result leaving you dead and frustrated!

Start/Pause Menu

There is also the pause/start menu option like Rockstar used in Red Dead Redemption. Basically in order to activate a cheat you needed to pause the game and head to a cheats menu where a specific phrase had to be entered. While this slowed the game down and could be time consuming, it also meant that the types of problems outlined above (dying while trying to activate a cheat, for example) were avoided.

Cheats Wheel

Lastly, there is a new feature in GTA V – the weapons wheel. Basically when you go to select a new weapon from your inventory, time slows down so you needn’t be in such a mad rush and are less likely to make mistakes (it also means you are less likely to get shot and killed while looking for a new gun). What if this was carried across to the GTA 5 cheats system and there was a sort of “cheats wheel”? Bring it up, time slows down, and you can select and activate the cheats you want without (hopefully) getting killed.

gta-online-trailer01101

Conclusion

To conclude, what do we want to see in the cheats system for GTA V? Well, it should be easily accessible (we think via a sort of “cheats wheel”, just like the new weapons wheel), but if you are getting shot or something else is going on it should not cause the process to restart or not happen at all (avoiding the frustration of the cellphone). Perhaps if you open the “cheats wheel” the game slows down (just like it does with the weapons wheel) and then you can select the cheats you want that way. Sounds like the best of both worlds to us! What do you think?

Rockstar Neither Confirm or Deny Cheats in GTA V

gtav-screens-july-4

Just in case you couldn’t tell from the name of this website – GTA 5 Cheats – while we do posts news and other information on Grand Theft Auto V, we are very much focused on providing you with cheats, codes, hints and cool guides for the game and will do so once it is released.

Of course all that depends on Rockstar actually including cheats in GTA V. You’d think it would be highly unlikely that they didn’t given the history of the GTA series and how popular cheats within it are. All weapons, vehicle spawn, full health and armor in GTA: San Andreas is a recipe for perfect chaos afterall and has provided this author with hours upon hours of post-completion carnage.

Other people have been curious about cheat codes actually making it into GTA 5 too and one reader decided to email the Rockstar Games Mouthoff team about it, and got a response as follows:

While past games in the Grand Theft Auto series have included cheat codes, we have not revealed any details about the possibility of cheat codes in GTAV. Beyond that, as you may already know, we also often like to keep certain game details secret so you can discover them for yourself when you play the game. For all the latest official news on GTAV, stay tuned to the Rockstar Newswire this summer.

We couldn’t really expect them to confirm or deny, but if I had to put a gauge on that response, I’d say we’re looking good for cheats in GTA V! What do you think?

Most Wanted GTA 5 Cheats

In case it isn’t completely obvious, GTA 5 Cheats is a site all about cheats for Grand Theft Auto 5. We all know how important cheats have been for past games in the GTA series and we fully expect GTA 5 will be no different. In fact, with all the awesome stuff Rockstar is working into this newest GTA title, we’d be very surprised if there wasn’t some totally new, mindblowing cheats in GTA 5 (i.e. far beyond the standard “All Weapons”).  That said, let’s take a look at some cheats we think it would be very cool to see.

Zombies

zombie

We love zombies and actually have two ideas for zombie cheats for GTA 5.  First, a Zombie Apocalypse cheat.  Everyone turns into a zombie, including your characters, the weather turns very foggy, and day turns to night. From then it’s an all-on-all battle with former pedestrians attacking both you and each other.  The goal is to kill as many other zombies as you can and have fun watching the pedestrians/other zombies go at it against each other too.  The second cheat idea is more of a Zombie Survival mode.  All the pedestrians turn into zombies, but you don’t.  Kill all the zombies and things turn back to normal.

We even think both these ideas have potential as “official game modes”, but that would be far too obvious (and COD-ish) for Rockstar… still, it would be cool!

Swap Character Abilities

michael-trevor-franklin

Each character in GTA 5 is going to have a particular special ability. Michael has bullet-time (ala Max Payne), Trevor has rage mode and Franklin has awesome driving skills. What if you could activate a cheat to swap those round? We think this would make things very interesting and be a good change-up, increasing the replay value of the game, particularly after you’ve finished it the first time round.

Destruction Derby

Everyone in a car starts trying to ram and blow up everyone else.  And if you aren’t in a car, then people are also trying to run you over.  We think this would be a heck of a lot of fun and also make for a pretty exciting multiplayer mode.

Flying

First, we want to see the jetpack back. Being able to fly around is heaps of fun.  Second, we want the flying cars cheat back, because being able to fly around in a car is just as much fun.  And when you think about it, with the increased draw distance and sheer size of the map in GTA 5, it would be rude not to include flying cheats – imagine the possibilities!

Lock Wanted Level

GTA 5 Car Chase

Yes, a Wanted Level cheat is very standard in GTA terms, however that’s because it’s a must have!  If you want to go on an all-weapons rampage, having dozens of cops, cars and helicopters etc on your tail just gets annoying.

Car Flipping

This is a handy sort of cheat – one that flips your car the right way up.  Who can remember flipping their Sultan RS and having to spawn a new one to get going again.  Instead, in GTA 5 simply enter the “Car Flip” cheat and you’re magically the right way up again.  Too easy!

Anarchy Mode

GTA 5 Anarchy Mode Cheat

Every single pedestrian gets a weapon and suddenly goes crazy, attacking everything and everyone around them.  Imagine something like a city-wide war.  What’s more, you have the cops actually chasing pedestrians too and getting involved in gun and fist fights. There are a few tweaks and refinements that would need to be made, but we think the general idea of an Anarchy Mode cheat for GTA 5 is pretty straightforward – all out chaos!

Cell Phone vs Button Combo

On a final note, the cell phone system for cheats should be ditched. We don’t think it’s entering a cheat, instead it feels like activating some sort of mod/powerup/ability.  Instead, cheats should be entered the proper way, as codes and/or button combinations.

We’d love to hear both your comments on the cheat ideas above, as well as the details of cheats you want to see in GTA 5.  Simply sound off below.

Cheater’s Pool for GTA V Cheaters?

When Rockstar released Max Payne 3, they had plans in place for a feature to be implemented (shortly after launch) that would level the playing field in multiplayer for those playing fairly (as well as those who weren’t) . That feature was the cheater’s pool – a separate multiplayer area for the thousands of cheaters, modders, and hackers to wallow with each other, unable to lay their filthy, cheating hands on honest players.

While we condone and encourage cheating here, and will give you all the codes along with everything else necessary to do so, we do that as the developer intended. It is one thing to enjoy the game on your own or with your friends, making use of the many great cheats that can make the game infinitely more enjoyable. It’s another thing to cheat in an unauthorized way in order to gain an unfair advantage over other players in online matches. That we can’t and don’t condone.

611

Those who say cheaters never prosper have never seen cheaters running through online games, killing everything in sight and laughing at their hapless opponents, who can only curse, or frown, or laugh, or cry at their misfortune. Cheaters DO prosper, and they do so at the expense of the honest players who are online to have some fun and test their skills against other players; not to stroke their ego and think they’re actually good players because they can beat people down using cheats and hacks.

Rockstar had this to say at the time of Max Payne 3’s cheater’s pool announcement:

The move is meant to address several problematic hacks that have plagued the game’s multiplayer, including invincibility, infinite adrenaline, score cheating and more. If any players are added to the pool and later cleared of any wrongdoing, they’ll be able to re-join the general population for online multiplayer. However, a second offense will cause them to be added to the Cheaters Pool permanently. Beyond the Cheaters Pool, Rockstar will also be addressing cheats and hacks in upcoming title updates for Max Payne 3. Invalid leaderboard entries will also be removed “to ensure that the players at the top of the charts have earned their spots fairly.

The feature wasn’t completely new, in fact it was borrowed from their other hit franchise. You may have heard of it…Grand Theft Auto? Yes, the PC version of GTA IV had a similar feature, though not nearly as highly touted at the time, largely due to the fact that cheating in GTA IV’s multiplayer was much less pervasive than in Max Payne 3’s.

351

Now, as novel a concept as the cheater’s pool was, it was fraught with the same problems that plagued the simple act of banning unscrupulous players, which is that they can simply get around it (many game companies themselves admit that banning is generally ineffective and most players can just bypass or circumvent it). Cheaters are nothing if not resourceful after all. So while the concept is theoretically outstanding, it’s not necessarily any more effective than simply banning those cheaters from playing, in execution.

Rockstar hasn’t officially confirmed the return of the cheater’s pool for Grand Theft Auto V’s multiplayer, it’s likely it (or even more likely, an advanced and highly improved version of it) will be used again in an attempt to keep Los Santos’ online streets free of the dregs of gaming society.

The Five Cheats We Must Have in GTA 5

With Grand Theft Auto 5 several months away, we have time (maybe a little too much time) to speculate what might be, and dream that it is so.

As a site dedicated primarily to cheats, we naturally want to devote some of our speculating and dreaming energies on what the newest Grand Theft Auto game will deliver in terms of cheats and codes. There are many cheats that are common across most GTA games, in addition to many other action games as well.  There are also some cheats that truly shocked and awed us in ways that few cheats have ever done before (that is, they were highly creative, funny, crazy or just ridiculously stupid).

From that exhaustive list of past cheats, we’ve pulled forth, for your perusing pleasure, the five cheats we can’t wait to cheat around with in GTA 5.

91

Invincibility

You can’t get much more of a thrill than wading into a room full of gangsters and opening fire on them, knowing that not one of their pathetic bullets will graze your invincible self. Why, it almost makes you feel like an action hero from… well just about any action movie with guns and bullets ever made. And it’s a great feeling.

Crazy NPC’s/NPC’s Hate You

This one is pretty much on the opposite end of the thrill spectrum from our first cheat, yet a thrill it is when you have a horde of angry prostitutes chasing you down the street, while you run past a melee involving a cop getting beaten to death by four senior citizens. This cheat will spawn some of the wackiest scenes and craziest action you’ll likely ever see, and we can’t wait to see what it spawns in GTA 5 (assuming it’s in the game).

Spawn “Insert Vehicle Here”

Who wants to drive halfway across town to that one location where their favorite vehicle resides? Oh you do? Well, you’re weird. As for the rest of us, we’ll take this great cheat that lets us spawn our favorite vehicles right in front of us (and use the time we saved to run people over with it)!

Super Jump

Jumping across buildings to escape the fuzz never gets old, and that’s how the super jump aims to please. It’s also great for exploring and finding all those secrets hidden in pesky locations… namely ones that require jumping to reach.

gta5-lagoon

Super Punch

What could be more fun than punching guys a mile in the air and crushing them with one devastating blow? Well, maybe there’s a few things we could think of, but this would definitely be in the Top 27 or so, and we’d love to see it in GTA 5.

If GTA 5 can deliver some or all of these cheats (or even better ones), we’re sure to be in gaming bliss, with endless hours of additional fun possible through nothing but our cheating ways.   What are some of your favorite cheats from previous Grand Theft Auto games?
