GTA V Mod Brings Powerpuff Girls To Your PC

Some of you may remember our recent coverage of Merfish’s GTA V rendition of the Powerpuff Girls, an old and popular children’s cartoon. Those of you who don’t remember either have a terrible memory or you just don’t read these articles. That’s okay, we’re not mad.

One of the main points we praised was the magnificent way in which the different otherworldly villains were recreated. This was achieved by using all kinds of texture mods to warp the various characters of GTA V into the iconic characters of the series.

The Powerpuff Girls themselves are the three protagonists from the game, with Lester as Professor Utonium. A number of well known villains were also recreated, such as the Rowdyruff Boys, the Amoeba Boys, the Gangreen Gang, Mojo Jojo, HIM, Sedusa and many others.

The Powerpuff Girls Textures mod contains all the character models from the recreation. This brings the total number of re-textured characters from the GTA V story to 26, meaning that you’ll be encountering all kinds of freak-show escapees at every turn while exploring Los Santos.

Merfish has made quite a name for himself with his increasingly disturbing Rockstar Editor renditions of various popular children’s shows in GTA V. All of his works are extremely creepy and they all have a penchant for adding some over-the-top violence that wasn’t present (obviously) in the original versions.

Merfish has uploaded the mods he used for his most recent works, such as the Teletubbies, Pokémon and Captain Planet textures, as well as one which changes the moon into Lester’s face, like the sun in the Teletubbies mod.

His expert use of existing assets in GTA V (such as the troubling prevalence of dildos – seriously, those things are pretty damn versatile) in new and “creative” ways to make characters look like their cartoon counterparts is one of the main reasons for his popularity, next to his sick, sick mind.

Which Merfish GTA V fan video do you find the most disturbing?

Lost GTA Online Characters won’t be Restored

Rockstar has officially confirmed that if you lost a Grand Theft Auto Online character as a result of the recent launch issues, it will not be coming back.

Commenting on the post announcing the Stimulus Package on the official Rockstar Newswire page, “R* K” had the following to say:

We’re afraid those lost characters will not be able to be restored, but we hope that the stimulus package will help you and other affected players get your new characters off to a great start.

So there you have it everyone. You lose your character (which is now a moot point for most people – who has actually held off making a new one in the hope their lost character might one day be restored?) and gain $500K free from Rockstar.

Of course that $500K likely pales in comparison to the amounts people are getting via the motorbike resell glitch, but whether you want to use that is of course up to you ;).

Rockstar’s Suggestions to Avoid Losing Online Characters

Rockstar has updated its GTA Online issues page and stated that if your online character has disappeared, you should back out to GTA V story mode and then try re-entering Grand Theft Auto Online via the pause menu. If this works great, if not then you need to wait until Rockstar’s cloud servers are back up.

Rockstar also wanted to emphasize that you should NOT create a new character in the empty slot where your old character was (this seems like a sure-fire way to lose that character forever).

And finally, you should also not hit “Retry” if you come across the message ‘The Rockstar Cloud Servers Are Unavailable’. Instead simply follow the steps above. Rockstar has said that by hitting “Retry” your character may be over-written.

All New GTA 5 Details

2-may-gta5-screenshot (17)

A tonne of new Grand Theft Auto 5 information has been released over the past 24 hours (including all these screenshots) and rather than bog you down with pages and pages of details, here at GTA 5 Cheats we thought we’d give you a simple, no BS list that tells you quickly and simply what to expect when the game is released on September 17 this year. So without further ado…

Property and Business: You can buy properties as well as businesses. This will earn you extra cash from rent and revenue.

The Phone: There will be a new phone called the iFruit. With it you will be able to take pictures, call people, view contacts, browse the net, use social media and replay missions.

Gameplay: You can: roll from cover, rob liquor stores and ATMs, pick up hitchhikers and hunt animals (as in Red Dead Redemption).

Activities: Activities you can undertake include stunts (ie vehicle jumps etc), flying, tennis, yoga, golf, bike races and triathlons.

Player Customization: You will be able to customize your character with tattoos, haircuts and clothing (ala San Andreas).

Vehicle Customization: You will be able to customize your vehicles with paintjobs, tints, grills, spoilers, wheels and performance upgrades (ie Pay n Spray style).

Weapon Customization: Will include high capacity magazines, lasers, scopes and silencers.

Police Radar/Wanted Level: The police radar system will be similar to previous games, but there will no longer be the 6 star wanted level. Also so long as you are not in the line of sight of the cops, you’ll be able to hide.

Character Stats: Player attributes include stamina, shooting, strength, stealth, flying, driving, mechanical ability and lung capacity.

Character Specials: Each character will have a special ability. Michael has bullet time, Trevor has frenzy mode and Franklin has adrenaline junkie (slows time while driving). The first two are self-explanatory.

Map Size: The map is 350% bigger than that of Red Dead Redemption and 500% bigger if you include the water.  The gaming world is surrounded by water everywhere (as opposed to being land locked).

Ocean/Underwater: There is underwater features including fish and sharks, and also treasure, shipwrecks etc.

Missions and Heists:  The game revolves around missions called “heists”. You get to recruit and control all aspects of each heist. For example, who will do it (recruitment), which vehicles are used, what weapons, what outfits/disguises etc. The more certain crew are used, the more their skills will improve.

Dying/Restarting:  If you die you will be taken back to the last checkpoint, this is even if your other characters are alive.

Switching Characters:  When you switch characters the camera will zoom out, and then zoom back in on the character you’re moving to. The closer the two are together, the quicker it will be.

Pedestrians:  The AI level of the pedestrians will be greatly improved and there will be up to 500% more of them!

Multiplayer:  You can play the single player game using your multiplayer character (for a total of four possible choices) and simply pressing down on the d-pad will allow you to switch between single and multiplayer modes.

All the GTA Characters in One

E3 has come and gone with no word from Rockstar, and all the while gamers are growing increasingly impatient with the lack of new information. Beyond releasing the trailer, Rockstar have done a fantastic job of keeping a lid on things. There has of course been the odd rumored leak, but the validity of them is extremely doubtful (check previous coverage here).

And while this post doesn’t have any fresh info for you, we did happen to come across some very cool Grand Theft Auto fan art. Patrick Brown is one heck of a talented artist and has a thing for game characters, particularly those from Rockstar Games’ games. Patrick has created “Grand Theft Auto Legends 2012” which you can check out below. It features 10 protagonists from previous GTA games as well as Albert De Silva from GTA 5.

From left to right:

  1. Toni Cipriani – Liberty City Stories
  2. Claude Speed – GTA III
  3. Carl Johnson – San Andreas
  4. Niko Bellic – GTA IV
