SHAREfactory Only Uploads GTA V Footage To Youtube

Playstation 4 GTA V players, attention! The SHAREfactory app for the PS4 console was subjected to a functionality restriction with the recent 2.55 system update, which is mandatory. The new build of SHAREfactory only allows footage captured while playing GTA V to be uploaded to Youtube, and no where else.

Sony’s Stuart Platt wrote of the new restriction on Twitter in order to get in ahead of users mistaking this new “feature” for a bug.

SHAREfactory is Sony’s proprietary gameplay capture, video editing and sharing software used for the Playstation 4. It contains some simple editing options, special effects that you can add in, captioning, the chance to add images or stickers, adding music, and the placement of a face-cam with the help of the Playstation Camera.

The SHAREfactory™ app offers easy video-editing tools and effects to let you share your greatest moments, your way. Effortlessly combine, personalize, and share your favorite game footage with your own commentary, a soundtrack (included tracks or your original music), themes, stickers, text, even a picture-in-picture video with the PlayStation®Camera.

Normally, the app allows players to share the captured and edited footage to Facebook or Youtube, or to save it on USB as a file that you can share anywhere.

As of the newest system update, the footage you capture in GTA V will be uploaded to Youtube only, and all other options are unavailable. The reason for this, we do not know right now. There is an upcoming app update, 1.06, which will contain a number of bugfixes but no new features, however Stuart has said that 1.07 will contain more substantial additions.
