Nvidia Retracts GTA 5 on PC Statement – Still Not Coming, Yet

Bad news guys, yesterday we posted that NVIDIA had the heads up on Grand Theft Auto V being released for PC this fall. As you can imagine, their comments (seen here) generated a lot of chatter, and also probably pissed off Rockstar Games, majorly.

Anyway, they’ve since had to retract and clarify their comments as follows, releasing the following statement via a spokesperson:

Please note, during our Thursday’s earnings call, our investor relations team provided a list of important games that gamers are looking forward to on PC this fall, and included Grand Theft Auto V on that list. This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by NVIDIA. NVIDIA does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error.

Sorry to all our PC fans… deep down we knew it was too good to be true!

PS: if you haven’t seen that screenshot before then check this post – we got five more shots today!

No one asked for your opinion, nor does anyone care. I don’t see how fans and news sites overreacting to an earnings call counts as the game coming to PC, so don’t even count this as a victory.

Some guy made a mistake and got a little excited at Nvidia that’s all. They should have known to be more careful when throwing around the name GTA V! Don’t they know we are a bunch of crazy gamers?
