This fall, Rockstar plans to release a standalone retail copy of Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City, which will include both of GTA IV’s DLC expansions on a single disk. The first expansion, The Lost and Damned, is currently available to download from Xbox Live. The second, The Ballad of Gay Tony, will become available for download this fall, as well.
Set in Liberty City, which Rockstar founder Sam Houser considers “the most vibrant game world” in GTA, The Ballad of Gay Tony puts players in the shoes of Luiz Lopez. As the assistant to nightclub manager Anthony “Gay Tony” Prince, Lopez will face conflicting loyalties and a world of lies. The setting and focus provides very different atmospheric and gameplay elements than those seen in The Lost and Damned.
The Ballad of Gay Tony will cost $19.99 or 1600 MS points and will only be downloadable by players who have a copy of GTA IV. In contrast, Grand Theft Auto: Episodes from Liberty City will cost $39.99 and can be played without the base game.
