Rockstar has provided some further details on the additional content and benefits you’ll receive with the GTA V Special and Collector’s Editions along with a few new screenshots.
Basically, each of the Special and Collector’s Editions contain various digital items that are designed to enhance all three of the main characters in the game (being Franklin, Michael and Trevor) as well as your GTA Online character. A quick summary is below and you should also check out our previous coverage on the two Editions.
Each Ammu-Nation will always have a .50 Caliber Pistol and a Bullpup Shotgun availabe for your to grab, free of charge. Each gun will have its own customization options, skins and attachments and you’ll also be able to grab a hammer (melee weapon) while you’re there.
All shops in Los Santos and Blaine County will offer Franklin, Michael and Trevor a 20% discount on their regular prices as well as access to special items. Each character will receive one outfit, one additional article of clothing (shirt, hoodie and jacket) and a tattoo.
Special Ability Boosts
Each of the characters has a special ability. Michael can shoot well (slows time in a gun fight), Franklin can drive the best (slows time while driving) and Trevor has a rage mode. Your use of these special abilities is determined by a Special Ability bar. With each of the Special and Collector’s Editions, the bar will regenerate 25% faster than normal.
Stunt Plane Trials
You’ll get access to stunt plane trials which basically let you blaze all through Los Santos and Blaine County at crazy speeds. There is five plane challenges in total, and each is designed as a check point time trial.

This one is for owners of the Collector’s Edition only – you’ll receive Niko Bellic from GTA IV as well as Claude and Misty from GTA III as parent options in the custom character creation system (in it, you get to choose your parent’s heritage).

Another one of the Collector’s Edition only – you’ll get access to an exclusive garage in which to store custom vehicles in single player and also be given the CarbonRS sports bike and the Hotknife – an open frame 1930’s style hotrod to keep free of charge. In GTA Online you’ll get access to a garage too along with the the high-end Khamelion electric car (access is provided but you’ll still need to purchase these items in-game).
