Last October, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories was released for the PSP, and on June 6, it will make its way to the PlayStation 2, with an MSRP of $19.99. The PS2 release was originally planned for April, but was delayed. A spring/summer release is unusual for the GTA series, as it favors October, but since the game is just expanding to a new console, it’s understandable.
This is great news for fans who have been anxious to return to GTA III’s Liberty City on a console, particularly since many players don’t own a PSP. So far, the number of PSP units shipped hasn’t quite crossed 20 million, compared to the PS2’s 100 million.
Liberty City Stories for the PSP was rated M, so we can expect the same for the PS2 version, even though it has yet to be listed. Additionally, many retailers still list the price as $29.99. In light of the MSRP, you might want to hold off on your preorder until the price changes, or at least until you read the retailer’s price drop policy.
